LA Lakers’ Lonzo Ball gets PRP therapy for his kneeAugust 10, 2018
The LA Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball was off the court for a month to help strengthen his left knee with regenerative medicine. He missed eight games, but underwent PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy, which is a non-surgical treatment option. Although he wasn’t playing basketball, he was still able to lift weights and maintain his physical health in the gym. “I have been lifting weights”, he said. “Nothing stopped me from doing that.”
Regenerative medicine helps by reducing recovery time and allows patients to get back on their feet as soon as possible – literally. PRP works by extracting a small amount of blood from your body and separating the blood from the platelets. This concentrated plasma is reinserted back into your body in the target surgery area, triggering your body’s natural healing abilities.
You don’t need to be a pro athlete to enjoy or afford the non-surgical therapy of PRP. At the Magaziner Center for Wellness, we offer PRP therapy for tissue pain, joint pain, injury, sprains, as well as work and sports injuries.
